Frequently Asked Questions
About Our Travel Associate ProgramQ. What is the difference between opening a commercial agency and becoming a Travel Associate with your company?
A. Our Travel Associate program provides you the benefits of being in the travel industry at a fraction of the cost of opening your own agency. To issue airline tickets to the public, a commercial travel agency must be approved by the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), which requires you to have a location in a business district, hire someone full-time with at least two years travel experience, and secure a $20,000 surety bond. Typical start-up capital is between $40,000 and $75,000.Q. Am I able to take advantage of the many travel benefits the industry has to offer?
A. Absolutely! In addition to unlimited income potential, you enjoy the many travel benefits the industry has to offer. You'll be able to enjoy exciting trips and cruises especially for travel agents, receive discounts of up to 50% off hotels and car rentals. All travel benefits are per industry standards, and subject to change.Q. How do I get the tickets and travel documents I produce?
A. Most airline tickets can be processed as an E-ticket, or "ticketless" travel. Occasionally, a client will prefer a paper ticket, requiring it to be sent to you by U.S. Mail, or you can have them delivered by UPS or Airborne Express for a nominal fee, which can be passed on to your client. Cruise, Tour and Package documents would be sent in the same manner.Q. How do I get my commission checks?
A. We'll send you a check every month. As a Travel Associate, you book all reservations under our ARC number. Simply follow the easy procedures outlined in your manual and video tapes and let us know all the transactions you make. We'll receive the commissions from the supplier companies, and send you your commission check on a monthly basis. You keep 100% of the commissions.Q. Will I need any computer equipment?
A. Yes. You will need an IBM or IBM compatible personal computer with a Hayes compatible modem, a printer and an intenet connection, which will allow you to access our online reservation system on the internet. We also suggest an extra phone line so you can receive calls and operate your computer at the same time. There is a monthly charge for unlimited access to our reservation system.Q. Can I locate my agency in my existing business?
A. Sure you can! As a matter of fact, a travel agency fits quite well in an insurance agency, boutique, real estate firm, grocery store, dry cleaners, tanning salon, or any retail or wholesale establishment. It's an ideal and creative way to use your current client base to expand your income.Q. What other materials do we need after becoming a Travel Associate with your firm?
A. Our travel Associate program provides everything you need to start and operate your travel agency. But like any business, you will want business cards, stationary, etc.Q. Will you provide training and advice on how to get customers for my agency?
A. Of course. Our Travel Associate program is complete to get you up and running in your new business quickly and successfully! Our manuals, audio tapes and video tapes give you easy-to-follow, detailed information on how to find prospects, close the sale, and more. Remember, its in our best interest that you become sucessfull!Q. How much "working capital" will I need to start?
A. That will depend on what you already have in the line of equipment and whether you start in your home or in an existing business. We started our company 10 years ago from a kit that cost $3,000 (ours is much less) and invested another $3,000. We already had a computer but not a fax machine. We opened in the front of a catalog store and paid $100 rent per month that first year and had two phone lines. We learned a lot that first year, and now you can benefit from our experience.Q. Your travel Associate program will be a great money maker for me. Am I able to sell this program to others and make even more money?
A. Definitely! In addition to receiving a commission on all travel you reserve, from airlines, cruises, trains, tours, to hotels and car rentals, you'll be paid a "bonus" commission for every Travel Associate program you sell. This in itself is a great way to financial independence, and becoming your own boss.Call Today! (918) 786-7900
